Thermography is a non-invasive, no-touch and radiation-free imaging service that uses thermal imaging to assess patterns of heat and blood flow at the body’s surface.
Julie will be offering several thermography scan options, including: Breast thermography, Thyroid, dental, TMJ & sinus scans, Upper body scans and Lower body scans.

Meet Julie
Julie Kapassas, RN brings more than 25 years of nursing experience to her work with Somatic Thermography. Her clinical background spans acute surgical and pediatric care, breastfeeding support for new mothers, and 12 years in a rehabilitation hospital supporting patients recovering from stroke, cardiac events and multi-trauma injuries.
Throughout her nursing career, Julie has had a strong interest in health promotion, education and disease prevention, with an emphasis on helping patients better understand their health and make informed lifestyle choices. She brings this combination of clinical experience and compassionate care to her work in thermography.
Why Add Thermography to Your Health Monitoring?
Thermography offers a non-invasive, no-touch and radiation-free way to gather additional information about thermal patterns at the body’s surface.
Unlike mammography, ultrasound, X-ray or CT imaging, which primarily evaluate the structure of tissues, thermography measures patterns of heat and temperature variation. This provides a different type of information and allows thermography to be used as an adjunct to—not a replacement for—conventional medical imaging.
Because thermography does not use ionizing radiation, it can also be repeated over time to compare thermal patterns without adding radiation exposure. Some patients choose to incorporate thermography into their broader health-monitoring plan between regularly scheduled conventional assessments.
Who Might Consider Thermography?
Depending on your health history, symptoms and areas of interest, Julie offers several different scan options:
- Breast Thermography
Available for both pre- and post-menopausal women, including those with breast implants or reductions, using HRT, pregnant or breastfeeding, or with a history of breast procedures such as biopsies, lumpectomies or mastectomies. Breast thermography evaluates patterns of temperature and vascular activity across the breast area that can be compared over time alongside your regular breast-health care. - Cranial, Thyroid, Dental, TMJ & Sinus Thermography
Examines thermal patterns around the thyroid, dental and oral region, TMJ, sinus cavities and neck lymph node areas. It may be of interest to patients experiencing persistent discomfort or inflammation in these areas or looking for additional information to complement their existing assessment and care. - Upper Body Thermography
Includes areas such as the full spine, upper back, abdomen, arms and hands. It may be of interest to those experiencing chronic pain, soft-tissue injuries, fibromyalgia, nerve pain, whiplash, arthritis, repetitive strain or carpal tunnel symptoms. - Lower Body Thermography
Includes the full spine, low back, buttocks, legs and feet and may be of interest for musculoskeletal concerns, repetitive strain injuries, chronic pain or assessment of thermal patterns associated with circulation and blood flow.
What Happens After Your Scan?
Following your appointment, you will receive a report from Somatic Thermography. With your permission, Julie can also CC your Hudson Integrative Healthcare Naturopathic Doctor and your family doctor, allowing your healthcare providers to review the findings alongside your symptoms, health history and other testing or imaging where appropriate.
Please note that appointments are booked and paid directly through Julie Kapassas via Somatic Thermography and are not booked through HIH reception.
